Easy Synchronization

As Lowe’s and other Retailers/Distributors ramp up their use of GDSN messages to return status information to suppliers, more Sync/PDI users are learning the features that are available to help.

Sync/PDI generates email alerts whenever your trading partner sends you GDSN messages. This makes it easy to know about Lowe’s and other partner messages right away without having to sign-in to Sync/PDI.

Once you are signed on to Sync/PDI, there are a variety of ways to view and action the GDSN messages from your trading partners. For example to find items published to Lowe’s where Lowe’s has issued a “review” simply search for “Partner=Lowe’s” and “Response Status=Review”.  From the search results, you can work through the list of items or even generate a spreadsheet with all the items that Lowe’s is asking you to review. Likewise if you want to find the status of several items that you published to Lowe’s in the last week simply search for “Partner=Lowe’s”, “Publication=Published” and “Publication Created=Last 5 Days”

There are several reports available from Sync/PDI:

• Publications By Trading Partner – this report provides the current status information for each of your publications.

• Trading Partner Responses – this report provides detailed information on all responses received from your trading partners.

For a quick drill-down on status information for an individual product, you can use the Sync/PDI Publication screen. This screen shows the publication and status information for one product across all of your Trading Partners and the individual response history is available by clicking on the “status” for a Trading Partner.
